Outbound

Processes

eManager supports the following processes for outbound goods from AutoStore:

• Picking and packing at the port - Picking from an AutoStore bin and placing directly into the shipment container (can be done for all types of completed picked orders)
• Order picking - Picking one order at a time (no packing at the port)
• Batch picking - Picking from an AutoStore bin to fill multiple orders simultaneously in one pass (can include bins containing multiple locations, which results in minimal bin presentations)

Message types

The outbound processes use the following message types:

• Pick List (PL) - Message sent to eManager describing which items need to be picked from AutoStore. The WMS/ERP system must send a pick list message to eManager, regardless of which outbound process is in use.

• Confirmed Pick (CP) - Message sent from eManager to indicate that items have been picked. The exact point at which the Confirmed Pick message will be sent is configurable.

• Pick Activity Started (PAS) - If configured, this message will be sent from eManager when an operator begins picking. This is most useful in systems where pick lists are occasionally updated. Note: To update pick lists in eManager, send a new message with the same ExtPickListId. Once a picking activity containing the pick list has started, no further updates may be made to that pick list.

• Container Complete (CC) - If configured, this message will be sent from eManager once all items are placed in a container (e.g. shipment container or internal warehouse container).
